The Salt chamber construction
Our chamber is a true reconstruction of a Salt Mine. The unique atmosphere
of the old mine corridor has been achieved by using in construction of
our chamber the very same building materials used in the mine throughout
the years of its uninterrupted operation since 13 Th. century salt mine.
Because of the great care applied to reconstruction of the corridor, the
chamber does look not only like the original one, but also offers the same
healing, rehabilitation and relaxation qualities as the Salt Mine
Spa 250 m deep.
The fragrant balsamic timber was used as the primary building material
in construction of the chamber, being processed with tools used in mining
in 18 Th. century. The walls are covered with freshly excavated, unprocessed
and rich in minerals salt blocks. The blocks are then fastened to veneer
(plywood) panels - filling the space between the structure frame of the
chamber using ecologically friendly, high quality, durable glue. The floor
has been covered with several tons of unprocessed, rich in minerals grainy
salt while ensuring full comfort for the users. All the materials used
meet the sanitary attests (requirements).
In its standard version the chamber comes in size of 34m2 with height
of 2.5m. As far as the height and width (3.6 m) parameters are permanent,
the modular type of its construction allows for an adjustment in length
to individual needs. The net weight (with no persons in) is ca 12 tons.
Therefore it is recommended that an investor should seek a professional
opinion regarding the weight of the construction planned in a particular
space.
Because the Salt Chamber is registered as an appliance, the building
permit is not required. The universal design of the chamber allows for
construction in enclosed space as well as a stand-alone structure. In case
of incorporating the chamber to an existing space, the size of it must
allow for a 1m space on all sides between the chamber and the walls.
In a compact version, the chamber is a stand-alone structure that requires
connection to the ventilation system (in and out exhausts) as well electrical
power level of 230V (110 V), 50 Hz / 55 Hz / 60 Hz , overall power supply
of 6 kW.
Furnishings the chamber can be fully air conditioned with its own unit,
has ventilation system in place - heating, safe electrical and sound systems
as well as a lighting system enabling color therapy treatment while enjoying
the stay in the chamber. The electrical system has been designed to allow
for installation of additional fitness and rehabilitation equipment, while
the ventilation system allows for additional refills of scents used in
aromatherapy.
The manufacturer also offers very attractive large salt blocks and lamps
that can add to the interior décor of this unique place.
